The big news that everyone is talking about in Splinterlands is the arrival of the new Conclave Arcana collection to the NFT card game. There are many new features such as new card rarities, new abilities, a new system of packs that will be sold, but these news related to the conclave news will be left for future content. This is because the focus is to understand what impacts the new collection is already having on the Splinterlands economy, that is, on the price of cards and on the game's main tokens, SPS and DEC. Come find out everything now!
I'll be much appreaciated if you Upvote, Reblogs or give any Tips ( PIZZA 🍕, PGM 🎮, LOLZ 😆, ALIVE ❤️, etc ). Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
[ENGLISH VERSION]
Card Market: Chaos Legion out of Modern?
With the arrival of a new set, new cards will be added to the game as players purchase and open packs. Therefore, it is expected that if we think of all cards as the same “token”, we will have an inflation in the number of cards, causing the price of all cards to decrease. However, it can be seen over a longer period of time that the price of the Chaos Legion Diamond+ collection is almost $800, whereas a few months ago it was close to $600. The reason for this may be due to the arrival of Survival Mode, which caused this big increase in March, as players needed more copies and these newer collections have more affordable prices.
But if we start to zoom in on the cards' situation over the last few days, we can see that there was a big rally, as mentioned, but the price has started to enter a downtrend. Since the Chaos Legion set will rotate out of Modern Format, some players who are unable to build a strong deck with the new set will find themselves having to sell their old cards to buy the new ones or simply end up leaving the game altogether, which is what some players have been saying. The support point for this possible drop may be Survival Mode and Lands because if the price of some cards drops too much, focused players will have to buy more copies to play in Survival or put in Lands.
Splinterlands Token Status - SPS & DEC Flywheel
Although the game's main token is the SPS, the upward trend starts in the DEC due to the economic system known as Flywheel. With the arrival of the new Arcana Conclave set, players start buying the DEC token to be able to get the packs when it is released. By doing this, the amount of DEC is theoretically exchanged for in-game items - the new cards - causing there to be less DEC on the market and the price starts to rise. This situation is exactly what is happening now, causing DEC that was close to $0.70 per thousand, to start to get close to the PEG of $1 = 1000 DEC.
The second part of the Flywheel is related to the SPS. When DEC reaches the PEG, or as we have seen, close to the PEG of $1, players start burning SPS to generate more DEC, causing the token to “transfer” its appreciation above $1 to the SPS marketcap. Thus, as DEC has begun a strong rise, SPS has started to move and has risen more than 50% in 1 month. Furthermore, as more players arrive at Splinterlands, they tend to need SPS to stake and increase their bonus, causing even the circulating supply to be low if there is a large influx of players.
