Upon opening 50 minor chests, I had a great surprise: an epic card! This made half the cost of the chests "return" since it alone is worth 15k. Furthermore, the cards from the chest allowed me to upgrade two reward cards. Come check out the details of the epic card and the upgrades!

I'll be much appreaciated if you VotesReblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

Taking advantage of the glint generated during the season and some glint from the previous season, I decided to once again perform the famous "chest opening". This time, as usual, the choice was Minor Chests, with a total of 50, all opened at once. Among all these chests, it's worth mentioning that a very interesting reward came, but first it's interesting to mention the other items that came.

Starting with the scrolls, there were 3 Common Scrolls, regarding the cards there were 12 Common Cards, 4 Rare Cards and of course some merits and potions, but especially an Epic Card. Adding up the total value of the "direct glint return", we have 15000 from the epic, 6000 from the rares and 3600 from the commons, totaling 24600, which was basically the cost of the Minor Chests, without even counting merits, energy or scrolls.

Regarding the epic card, I ended up getting lucky because I managed to get one that I didn't have any copies of, Kazira Vaelstrik. This is a dragon element card, with a high mana cost of 10, being an archer with 2 damage, and some tankier stats like 5 shield, 8 HP and 4 speed. Its flying and Immunity abilities allow it to be used with earthquake rulesets or any situation that has a debuff. Overall, a good card for high-mana matches.

Upgrades to "Conditional" Cards!

After going through the loot from the Minor Chests, it's worth remembering that in one of the last Splinterlands content updates, I commented something like "even though I didn't manage to do many upgrades in this opening, it's very likely that some cards will level up in the next one". Well, this was "the next opening," and as you can imagine, there were some cards that managed to get the necessary amount of BCX to level up, and that's exactly what we're going to analyze now!

The first card to level up was the Thornmaw Berserker, a death element card with melee attack. The card maintained its stats when going from level 3 to level 4, with 2 melee damage, 3 shield, 7 HP, and 4 speed. If we were to analyze only by stats, there would be better cards with a mana cost below 7, such as Cursed Windeku, which is one of the best Death element tanks, with 10 HP, 3 Thorns damage, and Heal at level 5.

However, Thornmaw has two situational abilities at level 4, making it not a "wildcard" tank, but rather... A card for specific situations. Its first ability, Final Rest, obtained at level 2, prevents allied and enemy monsters from activating abilities upon death, useful for countering cards with this mechanic, such as cards with Martyr like Venari Marksrat. Furthermore, at level 4 it gained its second ability, Magic Reflect, to be used in matches against mages, to reflect some of the damage back at them.

The other card that leveled up with the cards obtained in this opening was Mindless Thrall. Unlike Thornmaw, which gained a new ability, this did not happen with Mindless Thrall, which was actually a stat upgrade. The best part is that it's not just any stat, but the magic damage stat, which went from 2 damage to 3, a very important improvement for this card.

In its next upgrade, this card will receive a significant boost, as it will gain a new skill called Oppress, which will deal double damage to monsters with no attack power and even monsters with Weapons Training, making it useful in certain specific situations, in addition to when a magician card is needed.
