I was logging into Splinterlands to check out the Brawls and I came across a banner that said "Last Call Conclave Arcana," with only a few hours left, it seemed. Next to it was 146K Total XP and 3784 XP. I decided to look into what this "notice"/"reminder" was about, and from what I understood it was about the Conclave Arcana Packs. So, I checked the packs to see the status and was surprised to find that both the Alchemy and Legendary Packs were SOLD OUT! Let's investigate this further and try to understand the possible reasons.
I'll be much appreaciated if you Votes, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
Conclave Arcana Packs are GONE!
Another detail I noticed while browsing the Splinterlands match page is that there's a kind of "dashboard" for Conclave Last Call, showing several interesting details about the status of pack sales. On the left side, we have the players' packs, where we can analyze more information.
I didn't know what PE meant; I thought we might get some information about open and closed packs, but PE stands for Pack Equivalent, which is simply a conversion of packs to standard packs. That's why the current PE and the Standard PE are the same. I was already confused, thinking that all standard packs had been opened or something similar, but it had a different meaning.
What we can glean from this PE information is that if this value "normalizes" the pack types, we can see that both Standard and Legendary packs had a very similar PE value, while the highlight was the Alchemy packs, which would achieve a value of 20,000 more Standard packs. This shows where the players' focus was, perhaps due to a better percentage or simply because it was the middle ground for people who don't like to analyze which would be better and thought, "I'll go with the middle one," haha.
Besides representing the XP, these values also mean that these are packs that have not yet been opened by players, and based on their selling price, we can get an idea of the value that is still "stored" in these packs. In the case of Legendary, it's 6413 x 24k DEC = 153912K DEC; Alchemy packs are worth 19,074 x 12,000 = 228,888,000 DEC; the Standard Packs are worth 37,896 x 4,000 = 151,584,000 DEC. In total, this represents over 500 million DEC stored in these packs, which, converted to dollars, would be close to $350,000 just in unopened packs. If you consider what has already been opened, then this value will end up being much higher.
What impresses me most is that we also have Starter Packs, which are for players who are going to enter Splinterlands and want access to the Wild Format without spending too much, paying 1,000 DEC per pack, but already being able to play for a good while until the next rotation. I haven't been able to find information on how many unopened packs are still available, but it's an additional value beyond what has already been mentioned.
