I've been using SWASH as an extension on Brave for just over 1.5 years now. For about 75% of the time, SWASH has just been in the background, reallocating my data and sharing the profits with me. Recently SWASH has implemented a couple other money earning opportunities. Individuals can now opt-in to complete surveys through a 3rd party and you are paid in SWASH. To be honest, I've never been able to complete a survey either because they bug out, or simply because the surveys I've tried want a different demographic to answer the questions. Usually there are multiple surveys to choose from, but at the time of this writing there is only one for me. With that said, I've yet to complete a survey for reasons mentioned above.



Along with the surveys, SWASH has implemented a feature that allows you to earn more by viewing ads. If you are familiar with Brave Ads, I feel as though they work in much the same way. You are able to earn simply by viewing the ads rather than click on them. This is an option turned on in the settings, so please be mindful of that. The ads appear in the bottom left or right side of your screen. You are able to easily close them, or disable them if they become too intrusive.



SWASH's marketing team will claim you can earn up to $200 monthly though I don't quite see how that is achievable. This is likely under the assumption that you qualify for, and complete 100% of the survey's available as well as use your internet browser the majority if your waking hours. For some perspective, I typically browse online anywhere from 3-5 hours daily, and I've been pretty consistent for the past 1.5 years. In that time I've earned about 149 SWASH. As I said before, the majority of my time on SWASH was prior to when they implemented ads, and only when you could earn simply by monetizing your data.

That 149 SWASH is currently valued at about $1.33 USD. When you put this in perspective that I've been using SWASH for about 1.5 years, it does not seem like much at all, and of course it is not. Please consider a couple things. First, we are in a bear market so of course the value of SWASH will be quite low compared to its all-time high of .95 cents in USD. Additionally, I'm making exactly $0.00 on my data as is, and these are abused by transnational corporations for their personal gain. At least with SWASH I can have some feeling of self-sufficiency while making a few scraps of USD.

I'll be the first to admit, I can't fully verify the claims that SWASH is making. Because I lack the technical knowledge, I can't verify whether or not my data is being protected for my own benefit. Someone much smarter than me will have to do that. Their whitepaper is 38 pages of fairly detailed explanations, but even then I fail to truly understand what is happening behind the scenes. Therefore, using SWASH comes with a certain degree of trust. I am trusting that they have my data's best interest in mind. As I said earlier, I am trusting SWASH more than I would trust the corporations that have previous used and abused my data.
