Time to jump ship?

By tokyobitcoiner | Cryptokyo | 28 Aug 2021

Decisions, decisions!

Say you have some Bitcoin, some Ethereum, some Bitcoin Cash or even all of them, is it time to cash out and invest in another project.

You could also be a "no coiner" yet to jump in, or fall down the rabbit hole as the cliches go.

Unless you are a bitcoin maximalist, you may look at Ethereum and think that DeFi is the future and Ethereum is the kind of "internet" of that future.

Or maybe you are thinking of going the other direction, institutional interest is growing in "Bitcoin as a store of value", it is capped at 21 million coins, and, perhaps, it is the "safest" of the bunch.

So Bitcoin and Ethereum could be thought of as "mature", if you can use the woord for technology that has grown up in the last decade!

Then there are the first generation of "Ethereum killers" like Cardano (Charles Hoskinson*) and Polkadot (Gavin Wood*), Hedera Hashgraph and Algorand.  [*actually co-founders of Etherereum too!]

Finally there are the exciting new projects like Solana and Avalanche (with its degen focus and projects like Trader Joe).

What to do?

I wish I knew.

It depends on your risk appetite. Just my opinion but projects with a lot of developer interest and long term potential are the way to go.

If you have the funds you could set up a portfolio of some or all of these projects; it mitigates the risk of choosing wrongly and also all of the projects may succeed, think of your portfolio as a basket of projects, just like you might do with stocks. Or you might go all in with one project.

Exciting times, don't miss out!
