A couple of days ago, I regrettably wasted my last dollar (and a little bit more) on a can of Pringles.
I was mistakenly misled (by a falsely-titled "How to" article online) to believe that it is possible to make a Yagi-style wave guide Wifi extender cantenna out of a Pringles can. It isn't; a Pringles can has a far too narrow diameter to work, despite being of the right height. So that's the money for two days'worth of meals metaphorically flushed down the toilet. I didn't even like Pringles much when I bought the can for that express purpose; I like them far less now!
Unfortunately, despite having a can that looked like it was of potentially suitable dimensions for the job, the Web page that provides the calculation tool reports that the diameter is too wide and the can too tall. (The ideal dimensions are apparently a 92mm diameter and a height of about 145 to 150mm. My can has a diameter of 105mm and a height of 204mm. It's just not going to work!) It looks like I'm going to have to buy a shorter and narrower can. That's all well and good in theory, but I have no money!
Oh well, I'm just going to have to put up with inconsistent and spotty Wifi reception from my nearest hotspot or find a way to make enough money to afford a lot of overpriced coffee from my nearest coffee shop.
This is very disappointing! I was hoping that something would go right for me, for once, but no, I'm still on my losing streak (which I really need to end before I come short)! Oh well, I guess my crypto hustle and earning fiat deal just isn't going to happen!
Snark out!
