Today, I opened the Luno app on my phone because I wanted to exchange some DAI and USDC on Polygon (MATIC) for BCH. (Udemy are having a sale that ends in less than twenty-four hours at time of writing and I don't want to miss it, but don't have enough in my account for the course I want to purchase.) After performing the transactions, I was shown a pop-up stating that Luno now supports Polygon. That makes me happy, since I should be able to send my MATIC to Luno directly and exchange it there, without first having to use Nanswap (as wonderful as it is).
That made me curious, though, as to what else Luno supports. (Currently, I've got BCH, BTC, ETH, LTC, USDC and XRP wallets. However, I mainly use the BCH one for reasons expressed in a prior post.) Having looked at the other available options, they are as follows:
- Avalance (AVX)
- Cardano (ADA)
- Solana (SOL)
- Chainlink (LINK)
- Uniswap (UNI)
- Tether (USDT)
Other than Cardano (ADA), I don't care much for those. If Nano (XNO) was an option, I'd be happy, since I could transfer my earnings from CVn, Fire Faucet and TipNano directly to a Luno wallet, from Natrium/Nautilus/nPass. Oh, well, a man can hope. There's also the problem of the South African regulation requiring exchanges to register coming into effect next month, so I'm going to have to find a DEX alternative and/or a fiat-farming job (hopefully a long-term freelancing or hybrid gig), leaving Luno behind by then, as much as those options pain me. Luno offers me pretty much everything I want in an exchange, including ease of use. Oh well, all good things come to an end. My misadventures in crypto may be one of them (at least, until I can earn and save enough to make my way to a country that is pro-crypto, but that's not going to happen any time soon.) Fuck!
