US as Crypto Capital
United States presidential candidate has recently been making waves after the Trump Organization’s new crypto platform rebranded from “The DeFiant Ones” to “World Liberty Financial.” Trump is planning to announce plans to make the US the global crypto leader, and the former president announced this intention on the 29th of August. He shared a 17-second video teasing the strategy he plans to unveil as part of the announcement, made via a post on his official 'X' account. As part of the post Trump noted:
“This afternoon, I’m laying out my plan to ensure that the United States will be the crypto capital of the planet. They want to choke you. They want to choke you out of business. We’re not going to let that happen.”
The video ended with the World Liberty Financial logo, which hints at potential involvement from the DeFi project actively promoted by his sons. Trumps sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are actively involved in the World Liberty Financial project and they announced their plans to launch a new DeFi project aimed at addressing inequality in banking access. The platform will seek to leverage the benefits of DeFi to challenge the traditional banking system, but no specific details have been revealed as of yet.
A day before the announcement Trump launched the latest round of his NFT trading cards. The collection of NFTs are a private Trump family enterprise and are in no way officially connected to Trump’s presidential campaign. However the NFTs and the crypto platform are promoted as part of Trump’s political brand, and they are marketed to his supporters. They give Trump the opportunity to promote himself towards pro-crypto voters, along with gaining more exposure towards donors for his political campaign.
