Good day everyone,
I hope you are all well and having an excellent weekend, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. Today I will be doing a quick follow up from a previous article I wrote, called SBF visited by "Big Short" author for 'several hours' while under House Arrest. Within this I briefly mentioned how since SBF got released into house arrest there has been activity of moving coins into mixers to get Bitcoin from wallets associated with Alameda.
What has SBF done now?
According to multiple reports, including articles on coin telegraph and various tweets showing data from Etherescan, Sam Bankman-Fried (former CEO of FTX) has been accused of moving funds from Alameda wallets days after he was released from custody on a $250 million bond. These allegations stem from the fact just days after he regain access to comfort and freedom, of his parents home at least, wallets associated with Alameda noted moving Ethereum-based ERC-20 tokens into two separate mixers and getting Bitcoin in return.
This first came to light on the 28th of December when it was highlighted on Twitter that Alameda's wallets had suddenly become active once more. The timing of course is nothing short of suspicious, considering it was mere days after SBF got access to the internet once more. A number of tokens were transferred into “new fresh wallets” before these tokens were then sent onto two different crypto mixers, FixedFloat and ChangeNow. This allows for instant swaps of the tokens and attempts to hide the tracks of the transactions. This is all according to on chain data, which as we all know, does not lie, and a return of Ether and USDT was received and some was also cashed out via instant exchanges.
It Wasn't Me
According to the man himself, he no longer has access to these wallets and is not responsible for the sudden movement of funds. He tweeted his roughly 1.1 million followers denying having any involvement in this movement of funds. Within he highlighted the article which stated that these wallets associated with Alameda had managed to funnel more than 600 ETH to a wallet address that started with 0x64e9.
What adds even more fuel to this fire is the fact that as part of SBF's bail conditions he is limited to not spend more than $1,000 without permission from the court. This was highlighted and noted in a tweet by DeFi educator @BowTiedIguana, who also noted that these wallets have apparently cashed out around $684,000 since SBF got home. A lot of this money was apparently cashed out from an instant exchange in the Seychelles, which has all only happened since SBF got bail to be under house arrest. Early on December 30th @BowTiedIguana showed a series of these wallet transactions that are allegedly linked to SBF.
Within this tweet @BowTiedIguana outlines how the process happened, which is basically along the lines of:
- SBF’s public address (0xD5758) transferred all remaining Ether to a newly created address (0x7386d) on 28th December 2022.
- New wallet (0x7386d) had a total of $367,000 sent to it from 32 different addresses which were all identified as Alameda Research wallets.
- A further $322,000 was sent to the new wallet (0x7386d).
- The new wallet (0x7386d) sent a total of 519.5 ETH (around $629,000) to another wallet (0x64e9B).
- Three transactions of 200,000 Tether (USDT) were sent to the FixedFloat mixer.
- There were five separate transactions of less than 51 ETH ($61,000) that were used to move these funds into new wallets.
- All these funds were then sent to a centralized crypto exchange in Seychelles and to the crypto bridge RenBridge.
All the links to these transactions are noted in his thread of tweets attached above. He also called for attorneys from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission to look at the issue, stating:
“As the Ethereum blockchain is an immutable public ledger, this on-chain evidence is permanently available to law enforcement and the courts,”
Whether or not it is SBF, some have been quick to jump to the defence of the former FTX CEO, staring that the transactions do not necessarily mean that he has violated his bail release conditions.
It can be simply summed up in one song, one image, one line, as shown below from rollingstone.com. As a great man named Shaggy once said:

If, and this is just speculation as there is not concrete and definitive proof as of yet, but if SBF is behind this, then it is a clear violation of his bail conditions from the court. That could seriously put the assets his parents placed into collateral for SBF's $250 million bond at risk. Not everyone agrees it is against his bail conditions, but all in all it is not a good look and definitely a risky move.
Will SBF ever been credible or believable? Unlikely, but only time will tell. For now, the suspicions and allegations will not go away anytime soon, especially when there is blockchain data to back it up.
Have a great weekend and New Years.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
