I hope you are all well and having a great week, welcome to CryptoGod-1’s blog on all things crypto. Today I will be looking at a recent announcement regarding a documentary following the rise of everybody's favourite (or maybe not) meme coin, Doge Coin.
Doge Coin Documentary
A recent post on Twitter has announced the making of a documentary based off of Doge coin. The documentary will be made by a group of filmmakers and community participants and they are working on it as a feature film to chronicle the rise of Kabosu, the Shiba Inu which is used as the famous Doge meme. The dog was an abandoned puppy and has grown to become a global icon and synonomous with the Doge coin, and meme coin, space.
The documentary will be titled as 'Dogumentary' and produced by Own the Doge and Web3 art and culture collective PleasrDAO. The documentary will portray how the Shiba Inu inspired a cryptocurrency which has gone on to reach a $11.6 billion market cap along with its own cult following and even having its own pilgrimage to Japan.
Own the Doge, a Doge-oriented NFT community, and PleasrDAO have recently acquired the rights to the original Doge meme image which they got for a staggering $4 million worth of Ethereum earlier in 2023. The film will be directed by Jon Lynn, an English stage and film director and producer. He is known for directing comedies such as Clue, Nuns on the Run, and My Cousin Vinny. The film will be produced by the San Francisco based production company New Revolution Media.
The idea has been funded by members of the Doge community along with those of PleasrDAO and Own the Doge. While the production is still in the works and no release date has been confirmed as of yet, you can see a sneak preview of the documentary in the tweet below.
For fans of the original meme coin this is certain to be a winner. For those who are not so interested in meme coins or Doge Coin, it is still cool to see more and more media being focused on crypto and in the long term this can only be beneficial for the space.
