Predictions
Now for the most exciting part, as I go through the latest info regarding each team to make an attempt at predicting the results for this weeks matches. Remember this is just my fun analysis and should not be taken as advice or a guarantee.
Aston Villa - Burnley
This will certainly be a tough test for Burnley. Villa have been solid at the back since Gerrard took charge, and it really feels like the players look up to him and admire him for all he achieved in the game. They are quick on the break and with McGinn in midfield, have a solid rock to build around. Burnley are struggling for goals and more importantly wins. They can defend well, and in Cornet always have a danger man. If they can get into the right area's for him to feed Wood, Burnley will hope to sneak something from this match. I feel Gerrard will have his team well set up to dominate this match and should get a couple of goals for their effort. With Villa at home and the crowd willing them on, this game should finish 3-0 to the home side and see them march on in their quest for a top half finish.
Leeds - Arsenal
Another exciting game at Elland road, and a chance for Biesla to once again reaffirm his ambitions with Leeds. Arsenal showed during the week they have the quality in youth to go head to head with most teams in the league, bar maybe the top three. When it comes to away games, that's where Arsenal struggle. Their youngster's are full of talent and quality and if they can find the winning formula on the road they should be in a good position to get a top-four finish. However, they have an awful away record of late and have lost there last three games away from home. Leeds will be without Kalvin Phillips and when he doesn't play, Leeds don't perform. City thought them a lesson during the week and while I don't think Arsenal can do the same, I think this game will be tight. Leeds have a good record at home, so I will stick my neck out and go for a 2-1 home win for Leeds.
Newcastle - Man City
Eddie Howe was very unhappy after the defeat at Anfield, claiming Liverpool's equaliser should not have stood. Personally I think its a case of sour grapes, as Liverpool dominated that game and could have won by 6 or 7 goals. I expect City to tear Newcastle apart in this game. After their sublime performance against Leeds with the gifted De Bruyne pulling the strings, it should be another match where they flex their muscles. I think this game will be one of the final nails in Newcastle's coffin, as players will see just how off they are. Anything is possible in football, but it would take a brave person to bet against City, as Newcastle proved when they took the lead at Liverpool and still lost. A final score of 1-4 with City taking the win away from home.
Wolves - Chelsea
I think this will be the toughest match of all to call this weekend. Wolves have shown they can be a match for anyone, with Liverpool and City getting narrow wins against them. Their midfield is superb, with Neves a diamond in there. He can dominate any game and is the complete midfielder. Chelsea have been on an awful run of form and will be without many key players again heading into this game, showing they are not quite at the level of the top two currently. Without Lukaku they are struggling against teams who defend deep, and lack the natural instincts to penetrate and break them down. Wolves are one of the best when it comes to defending deep and making things difficult for their opponents, and I think they have the ability to nick the odd goal when needed. Their defence is only bettered by the top three, so this will be a close affair. A draw seems the most likely result, and I think this game should finish 1-1.
Tottenham - Liverpool
Conte is aiming to emulate the path Liverpool took back when Klopp first arrived, and turn his team from an also ran into a real challenger domestically and abroad. Spurs should be well rested and full of energy to combat a Liverpool team who have been playing every three days since the [previous international break. Conte knows how to get his team defending and tough to break down, but as Trent Alexander Arnold showed against Newcastle, Liverpool have players all over the pitch who can score magical goals. Thiago is another to watch out for, and after a poor first half agaisnt Newcastle, I think he could pull the strings in this game. Liverpool will create plenty of chance and should score, while Spurs will be desperate for Kane to get back on form. With Van Djik and Fabinho likely to miss out, this will prove a real challenge for the Reds. That being said, they are in too good of form to slip up, and with both their top rivals in Chelsea and City playing before them, Liverpool will be extra motivated to not slip up. This game will be the pick of the weekend, and I think Liverpool will get the away win, with a final score of 0-2.
Have a great day and enjoy the midweek games, which should see some very exciting matches.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
