Welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things gaming and literature. Today I will be doing a brief review on the games available on the PlayStation Store for free as part of the PS Plus subscription.
What Games are Available for March 2022
For those subscribed to PS Plus, you will be well aware by now that on the first Tuesday of every month a selection of games are released for free to all subscribers. PS Plus is basically a subscription service for gaming online with friends via the PlayStation consoles. The games for March 2022 are as follows: Ark: Survival Evolved, Team Sonic Racing, Ghostrunner, and Ghosts of Tsushima: Legends.
Games Overview
Ark: Survival Evolved (PS4/PS5)
This game was released in 2017 and is an action-adventure survival video game developed by Studio Wildcard. Players have to survive in this game after finding themselves stranded on an island which is full of monsters including dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, natural hazards, and of course hostile human players. Similar to many other survival games, Ark begins with players stranded on a beach with a massive, dangerous island to explore. You have just enough clothing to remain modest, and of course your hands. After that it is up to the player to figure out how to remain fed and hydrated while avoiding the monsters lurking on the island. The aim is to progress up the tech tree, with advancement feeling natural and players can culminate in possessing a stone castle or steel fortress full of blast furnaces, complete with electric lighting and gas generators, churning out components for building rocket launchers and SCUBA gear.
Team Sonic Racing (PS4 / PS5)
This game was released in 2019 where players have the choice of controlling one of fifteen characters from the Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game is played in a third person view and players can perform tricks, drifting, and collecting power-ups. Whether the players are drifting to build up boost meters, bouncing off the pads while rocketing around the track, or gliding through a teammate’s slipstream, Team Sonic Racing is constantly pushing the speed limit. Each race is action packed and pushes players to go faster in a engine system which is built to keep your group traveling as a single fast-moving unit.
Ghostrunner (PS5 Only)
Co-developed by Slipgate Ironworks and Poland-based developer One More Level, Ghostrunner is a cyberpunk action platformer released in 2020. This games ensures players are alert as they have to run fast, slide fast, kill fast, and if you cant do it quick enough you die. A very demanding and action packed game, pinpoint platforming precision and split second decision making are required to survive but thanks to instant respawns, mostly generous checkpointing it is rarely frustrating.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends (PS4/PS5)
This is a multiplayer co-op game inspired by Japanese mythology. Separate from the main standalone game, this focuses on four warriors who have been built up as legends in stories told by the people of Tsushima. Playing in groups of 2-4 with friends or online, players choose from one of four different character classes: the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. Missions escalate in difficulty, building on the foundation of combat from the single-player campaign but added with new magical twists that require careful synchronization with your partners.
