New Hampshire withdraws the bill that would allow bitcoin taxes to be paid to taxpayers residing in the state

The decision came on January 8th, the New Hampshire House of Representatives decided to withdraw the bill that would allow taxpayers to pay taxes in bitcoin; a proposal by the executive committee, which deemed this eventuality as inappropriate due to the excessive volatility that characterizes the cryptocurrency market, stalled the proposal.

According to the authorities, in practice, the volatility of BTC represents an excessive risk for the state budgets; moreover, it should be noted by the same offices, if the proposal had passed it would have been almost impossible for the DRA (the body that monitors the state's revenue) to define exactly the exact amount collected.

The hilarious thing, if I have to say it all, is that taxpayers are required to provide a precise amount of their investments in cryptocurrencies, an amount that the institutions themselves declare would be impossible to calculate if they accepted the payment of taxes in BTC; this, of course, is not a problem of volatility, in fact it would be enough for the institution in charge to issue a note with the official exchange rate on a daily basis as it does for any other currency.

It is not the first time that such a thing has happened in the USA, there have been numerous bills presented to this effect in recent years and all have systematically run aground essentially for the same reason; in 2018 alone, for example, at least three similar bills, presented in Arizona, Illinois and Georgia, had run aground in no time.

However, the real meaning of these slowdowns escapes since, just to give an example, in Switzerland, to be precise in Chiasso, citizens have been enjoying the possibility of paying taxes in BTC for a couple of years now and it has been the same mayor of the city to declare that there was no complication for the simple reason that the figure, once collected, is immediately converted into francs.

It is therefore not clear where the problem lies and why in the USA there are all these hesitations in offering this type of opportunity to taxpayers, since it would be enough to sign a partnership with one of the numerous payment processors in circulation to instantly convert BTC payments into American dollars, thus solving the problem at the root.
