Uniswap has been in the energy since the SEC has it's settlement with them. They are now doing the cross chain work more. And also some of the projects they have worked with in the past. For example, Across and Uniswap has done the partnership for the cross chain asset swaps. 

So this new ERC 7683 protocol is going to be applied for this partnership. Like two projects using the interoperability for the assets. This can be handy across multiple layer 2 and 3 and even layer 1 protocols too. It's a good direction they are taking but remains to be seen the final output. 

Some of the chains included in the intergration are : Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, OP mainnet, Blast, ZKsync, Zora and even the new Worldchain. You would see more L2 coming into the game. And the protocol would make it easier to swap across the chains and also reduce the fees overall. I think that's a fair direction for the integration. 

There will be internal coin and also support for the wBTC and other stablecoins. And like stETH there would be internal coins that would be something worth exploring for the stakers. But this has a future written all over it and we are going to see how it would reach in better place at the end.
