Swaps are one of the fundamental parts of the L2 ecosystem. Most of the chains thrive because of them. And they kind of basically are undeniable force that has made the Ethereum chain and it's layer 2 chains the life they deserve. And the swaps is where the money is for most of the DEX and the ecosystem around. 

In case of the Ethereum there are protocols like Layerzero which work with multiple chains, cross chain, multichain and the nodes. And that helps them make the swaps easier. And they also make sure to open up for more apps and the marketplace. In case of the Stargate Finance made the fast swaps app. 

So what does this protocol does? It basically allows the single swap feature, where the multi chain and the cross chain instantly. And it gets settled quickly. Also the gas free swaps is possible after this feature. I know many DEX that have improved since such type of protocols. 

But it seems the stargate is managed to get the arbitrum, polygon, optimism and few other L2 chains on the ethereum. And they seem to have proof of concept done properly with the Layerzero protocol. And seems like they have proven results for themselves.
