Have you played the Final fantasy games? Especially in those old retro console days? Ever since those days the games have improved a lot. Traditional turn based RPG games were pretty common by Square Enix. They changed a lot of graphics and the game design over the years. But they continue to dominate with the Final Fantasy series.

Recently the CEO of the Square Enix explained the new direction of the game dev company, in his letter here.

The way they are viewing the future of the blockchain game and the upcoming NFT economy. I feel we are going to be getting some metaverse, VR games and also new changes from their studio.

Yosuke Matsuda, CEO of the company is pretty much hopeful for the blockchain economy. And it seems like they have pretty good views on how they wish to turn the existing collection of games into new blockchain metaverses. I am kind of however feeling some cryptic message here on the point of what they intend to do with the blockchain economy.

Square Enix is optimistic about the web3.0. By that I suppose they are happy with the way decentralization is working out. Like the tokens, NFTs and the ability to use blockchain for the transparency. I think something like that is already loved by many game studios on the web. That is why a lot of investors and the game studios are betting on the web3 economy model.

I am optimistic about various game studios coming on the web3 bandwagon. Only problem is that we need some form of the centralization or else these game companies could make expensive stuff and literally burn the money of gamers and if unchecked they could end up making it harder for open economies and metaverses to sustain.

I feel the future with the Square Enix is good with the blockchain gaming and we will be seeing some good games being deployed on the chain.
