Most of the crypto projects are not even serious with the user data. They kind of keep the data open in a text format. And time and again many of such projects have leaked the user data. And no amount of the encryption has secured the data like that. I hope to see one day that would be changing. 

Last year 2024 you would have heard about how the OpenSea data was leaked since 2022 and then 2024 the legal case made them change few things and change few knobs too. 

As per the twitter verse a lot of people are reporting how the Opensea leaked data is being found. And how the data is being used by others. I know one thing for sure that the way is unsalted passwords and also the non encrypted data into the database. So this explains a lot about the opensea database for the users need to be taken care of as well. 

Either way if you are trying to sell something with the NFT and other crypto repositories you can see that it'd be fair to make use of the protonmails and also make sure to let those sort of protected emails leak. Because other emails are not that secure. And so if we can't control either of these services, we have to regularly change passwords and also update private keys too.
