Bitcoin mining setups consume a lot of electricity. And the people who setup such usually steal the electricity. But apart from that it does not take a lot of electricity. I believed that until I noticed the amount of consumption happened over the years goes to show why govt chases the bitcoin miners. So the Malaysia govt captured the mining rig in the parking garage. 

Such setup once captured the Malaysian govt decided to put it under the road roller. And turns out that much of the expensive rig is technically gone. This could be happening because the govt may not be trusting the people in the middle where the only way to handle is destroying the rig. And so the thing is that such type of the strong actions would be taken by the govt every now and then. 

Here's the thing. Before regulations, control on the crypto and the exchange rules come in. I feel that the Spot ETF and the variety of the crypto sources would be traces and raided. So whatever your sources are there for the govt they would raid it and make the crypto under their regulation. So such events are going to happen around the world. Expect such events more often.
