Few years back, there used to be "one chain for all" logic. People used to only look at the Ethereum for extending their blockchain solutions. Then came out some of the private and the govt specific chains in the Hyperledger. And then other private chains and the open source chains followed up on the blockchain solutions. So now the trend of the dedicated blockchains for the specific purpose has been in the works.
