Search Engine. Decentralized. The two words that got the Presearch service somehow trending. But given the small research I had over this, let's see if it's legit or scam, and if it's worth putting time and effort into.
So the basic idea of how I run into these services is looking for ways that you can earn crypto - without having to spend anything, or even verify anything. Another limitation for me is region restrictions so what works here, should be good out there too. I've been using Presearch for a while, since it kind of seemed legit but I'm gonna share the ideas with a little bit of math here. Knowing that their token is called PRE:
Reward per search query: ~0.9 PRE
Minimum amount to withdraw: 1000 PRE
Maximum search rewarded search queries per day: 30
This means, at its best, you'd get around 3 PRE per day, if you make the maximum rewarded searches per day; and if you keep doing this to its fullest everyday, you'd need around 333 days to get the minimum requirements, which is close to 1 year of fulfilling the task.
What do reviews say about this? Most likely scam. Now there are some that say they've gotten it using their "Emergency withdrawal" that is documented on their official website, but there's only very few of them, since, you know, it takes some time to get there to be able to withdraw. Some believe their a part of their earned coins have disappeared or stolen, some said website showed weird errors or "nonsense excuses" on withdrawal, even though they had spent months to get the required amount.
I, too have been using it for a few weeks, occasionally, and I have around 22 PRE. Too far to get there.
All in all, for me at least, it's more likely towards the scam point of the story. Also, the search engine itself is quite similar to Google in terms of search "results", as in, the list of the links with the short preview; but it's never close to what Google, Bing or other popular search engines offer. So, would I continue? Nope. This free way of getting crypto is a gg for me.
