Stay Away from the Crypto Grind

By Myxoplixx | CryptoCurious | 15 Jun 2025

I’m done. After months of grinding points in this so-called “decentralized” crypto ecosystem, I’m waving the white flag. If you’re thinking about diving into these blockchain point systems, whether it’s airdrops, testnets, or engagement farming, let me save you the heartache: it’s a rigged game. I poured hours into repetitive tasks, swapping tokens on platforms like Sui, staking assets, and tweeting like a mindless bot for some promised payout. For what? A measly 5,000 points a day, pocket change compared to the 500,000-point “dumps” orchestrated by an untouchable “inner circle” of bot-wielding insiders. Trust me, you’ll get rekt, and it’s all so tiresome.

This isn’t just a bad day; it’s the reality of crypto’s broken promise. These point systems, hyped as a path to democratized wealth, are a trap for retail users like us. You grind, burning time, gas fees, and sanity, hoping for a slice of an airdrop or token launch. Meanwhile, syndicates and insiders deploy AI-driven botnets that spam transactions or fake social engagement at a scale you can’t dream of. A post on Twitter nailed it: bots outpace us by 100x, flooding systems with coordinated dumps that crash token values or steal leaderboard spots. I saw it on Sui’s network, where the Foundation stepped in after an exploit, but their fix was a Band-Aid, bots just pivoted and kept dominating.

Why does this happen? Because the system’s built that way. Decentralized blockchains like Sui or Solana, with their low-cost transactions, are bot playgrounds. Projects prioritize user metrics, transactions, tweets, Discord joins, etc., over fairness, inviting exploitation. Insiders, maybe even developers, have access to proprietary tools or secret knowledge, letting them game the rules. Ever heard of “proof of attention”? It’s a joke, bots fake it better than we ever could. Gaming’s no different; in titles like AdventureQuest Worlds, botters flood markets with farmed loot, screwing over legit players. The result? Retail users like me are left with devalued points and a sinking feeling we’re just pawns.

The kicker is the burnout. You’re not just losing time; you’re losing faith. Crypto promised empowerment, but it’s a tech arms race where only the connected win. Fixes exist, Sybil checks, transparent rewards, or community votes, but projects drag their feet, hooked on inflated stats. My advice? Steer clear. Diversify your hustle, research project mechanics, and demand fairness. Otherwise, you’ll end up like me: dejected, devalued, disgusted..., and warning others about this soul-crushing grind.
