Bitaxe Gamma 601 - Mine 3.125 Bitcoin At Home!

BitAxe Gamma 601

The Bitaxe Gamma is an amazing home bitcoin miner.

I have the older version of the Bitaxe Gamma 601 - it has a 1.2 Th/s hashrate.

Here it is, happily hashing away. Next to the 30+ year old Holy Water of course. That's +5% Mining Luck.

Here's one up close. It's a little bit dusty I will have to clean it, have been mining Bitcoin these days.

I got mine from Bitcoin Merch.

BitcoinMerch is not offering this 1.2 Th/s version anymore. The standard one is the 1.5 Th/s now.

You can order one of these miners through the LINK here! (This is my affiliate link, which means I may receive a commission if you make a purchase through it, at no additional cost to you. Thank you.)

Let's check out SoloLuck. The 1.5 th/s Bitaxe Gamma gives you a 1 in a 4.5 million daily chance to win 3.125 Bitcoin. On a yearly basis this is 1 in a 12 thousand.

Although the chances are slim, solo blocks have been mined. Home miners have been hitting Bitcoin blocks with a single Bitaxe Gamma.

The Bitaxe Gamma 601 (1.5 Th/s) consumes around 17 Watts.

When running 24/7, it will cost you around 2$ on a monthly basis, and 22$ yearly.

It runs on wi-fi. Setup is very easy, you can do it either through your phone or PC.

Here's the Bitaxe Dashboard. If you want to lower the error (hash error percentage), you can do this by moving the miner as close as possible to the wi-fi source, or connecting it with a LAN adapter (there are companies who are selling these special Bitaxe adapters) to the router.

You can further lower the submitted hash errors if you overclock the device (increase the frequency and core voltage) but I personally would not recommend that - the power supply will be heating up a lot faster. If it's on default settings, you can leave it on 24/7 without a care. Make sure to turn it off for 10 minutes every couple of days, to let it cool off.

As you have seen, on the Bitaxe dashboard I got the notification "Your share of the coinbase reward is only 31.9%". This is because I'm mining at the Parasite Bitcoin mining pool. (Here's a good link for those interested more about this pool).

There's lots of different Bitcoin mining pools that you can join. Besides Parasite, I can also recommend you SoloCKpool. If you get lucky there you will get the full 3.125 Bitcoin reward.

I had this Bitaxe Gamma for a couple months now and I'm happy with how it has been working so far. The sound is silent, it's not producing any heat...

One more thing guys - if you like Bitcoin mining, don't let it turn into a gambling addiction. Keep it simple. Having one Bitaxe Gamma 601 in your household is perfectly fine.

There's also many different Bitcoin mining host/rental services. Those are a lot more convenient and easier to manage than holding a lot of miners at home. I haven't tried out this yet, but maybe will in the future and cover it in a video or article.

Thanks for reading. Happy mining, stack sats and good luck to us all!
