So, after all the evidence was handed to the authorities, the problem was apparently solved, with more than $64 million of stolen assets being recovered from hir/her address. The only incongruence is that the total recovered now is up to 204 millions, and the 150 millions initially stolen are now 281 millions. When asked, they say that the 150 millions were the Ethereum based cryptocurrencies, with some other like Bitcoin, Tron tokens, Stellar tokens and XRP making them to increase to 281 millions. 7.5 millions were exchanged on Kiber Network and Uniswap, and they will not be probably recovered.
What is amazing, despite Kucoin secretive approach to this, is the big number of benevolent actors involved in tracking, blocking and reissuing the funds stolen by the hack. It is the first time when the crypto-market has such a coherent and unified response.
