FTX gave these celebrities customer funds!

By Invictus21 | Crypto Mademoiselle | 11 Nov 2023

I was just flabbergasted at the breakdown of money that celebrities like Stephen Curry (28,5 million), Tom Brady, his wife Gisele (50 million USD) as well as others received from FTX. I recall hearing Kevin O'Leary insisting that he still trusted FTX after the first revelations came out...but now we understand that after receiving 14 milllion dollars, trust comes easy!

Granted, most of these celebrities were paid to promote FTX and hence effectively getting more customer funds siphoned into SBF's web of destinations. The crime was committed by using the customer funds to pay off Alameda Research loans, and promotional costs, without any plans of ensuring client funds are there when and where clients want them. Recall the ads they did to promote FTX?! I wrote about celebrity couple Tom Brady and Gisele's involvement in the article I published when I was wondering and doubting whether Sam Bankman Fried would get convicted here. As details from the transcripts of the trial of FTX and SBF come out, Crypto fans and users like you and me, get an inside peak into how manipulative, reckless and greedy characters like SBF can be. Celebrities, endorsements and stadium re-naming cost more than 1 billion USD of customer funds!

One thing that caught my attention was the fact that, the prosecutors used tweets to present evidence of SBF's deception. For example, as the fraud and ambezzlement started to get undone, SBF famously tweeted that FTX assets were fine. These and many other tweets, like the one claiming FTX had an insurance fund of about 100 million USD were presented in court as evidence! It goes to show, that the Internet never forgets!!

I do mention SBF a lot, however, before the actual collapse went public, none of his former employees, ex-girlfriend and CEO of Alameda Research nor execs went forward. So if we think about it, this would have gone on, as long as no one found out and exposed them. Check out the detailed court proceedings narration from Coffeezilla, who actually attended the trial in New York.
