let's start with the elephant in the room.
1-BITCOIN
Last year, I bought €1,000 worth of satoshis when Bitcoin was hovering around €92,000, roughly $93,000 at the time.
I knew Bitcoin was volatile. It was an acceptable risk. Here’s the "fun part": Bitcoin didn’t really betray me. The euro did. Forex is the dark knight of this story. It pierced my deposit and ran away with my gains.
In dollar , Bitcoin has behaved… reasonably. No supernova explosion, no apocalyptic disaster:
Last year started around $100k, went down, hit ATH, went down again, and now it’s sitting around $95k. Fair.
But because the EUR decided to flex its muscles while the dollar quietly disguised himself as a poor fighter:
The same BTC started last year at 100K € and .... ended at 82K €...
Welcome to the harsh forex reality. Bitcoin is an hedge against fiat debasement but when you need to convert into another fiat, the table can flip very fast.
I earned 2% in USD but lost 8% in EUR.
If you’re a non-USD investor, don’t forget: When you buy Bitcoin, you’re also placing a bet on the dollar. And sometimes… you win only one bet :-(
2-BFG
it was going good. Slow but steady growth, 0.0001 BFG for bet.
Then I distracted to check my phone. My son wanted to "help" me and pushed the button three times. My 7 dollars disappeared.
I took a bit of risk and tried to rebuilt.... but Lady Fortune decided it HAD to be a bad evening and so my 1300 Satoshi vanished.
Son costs... (less than wife anyway).
3- EMBER
so Ember decided to mutate. Before you would get 1sat/hour no matter what and when you activate it you would get more sats per hour depending on the number of affiliated using Ember ( so 3 or 4 for me).
Now you get 0 as base unless you activate it. But you can activate it only if you have a valid session. And at my level I get 10 session per month....
I got pissed off and tried my luck with dice, hoping to claim the rakeback. I failed, I have now just 19 sats... still 37$ to rakeback, (93% completed).
Lootup, CoinpayU and Cointiply are still growing and I got another Epic land on Atlas game. Life goes on.
