Polkadot $DOT co-founder Gavin Wood has resigned from his post as CEO.
Wood is not leaving the company. According to Woods, co-founder of Parity, Björn Wagner will now be CEO, and Wood will remain the chief architect.
Wood's supporters are calling it a necessary step for Wood to decentralise DOT Universe before cryptos are regulated. But, making someone else the CEO in his place is not considered a step towards decentralisation.
Many consider this to be Wood's failure, because a successful person does not leave office for someone else.
Thoughts
Even in the crypto industry, CEOs are almost always from the companies. Wood is no different either. Wood's departure doesn't alter the dot ecosystem, but it might have an impact on its market.
