Polygon acquired Hermes in 2021 for $250 million and rebranded it as Polygon zkEVM. However, development on zkEVM appears to have quietly stalled — it was never upgraded to support Blobs. Now, Polygon seems to be shifting its primary focus away from zkEVM towards Polygon PoS and the Agglayer.
I’m reflecting on what this means for holders like me. I currently hodl POL tokens and have been searching for ways to stake them. Since the migration from MATIC to POL, the token’s value has dropped significantly, which has resulted in notable losses for me. I’m yet to find a proper method for staking POL — and I refuse to use centralised platforms that require KYC.
If I don’t find a viable staking route soon, I might have to consider trading the tokens via alternative tools. I’ve actually bought more POL from exchanges than I’ve earned through Wubits. For now, I’ll stick with Wubits — it’s proven to be quite reliable.
