During a recent town hall meeting in Bay, Wisconsin, Elon Musk distinguished between DOGE and Dogecoin.
Elon Musk of DOGE
Elon Musk is a well-known backer of Dogecoin; he has been dubbed the "Dogefather," and his government agency is titled DOGE under the Trump administration. However, Musk has recently stated that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is not Dogecoin, and the similarity in names is entirely coincidental.
Musk's Connection to Dogecoin
I bet this incident is also Musk's Dogefatherhood; he can't stop himself. Musk has even called Dogecoin "people's currency" in the past. Musk is, however, facing lawsuits from Dogecoin investors who lost money during the crypto winters. Also, Trump has no plans to establish a DOGE reserve, so Musk merely played it safe.

DOGE is not permanent
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) intends to increase government operating efficiency by 15%. Musk may step down after accomplishing a $1 trillion decrease in the US federal deficit, which could occur by the end of May. Hence, it appears Musk's government department DOGE is not permanent.
