The Central African Republic is the second country in the world and the first in Africa to adopt bitcoin as legal tender, but now the validity of bitcoin is ending there. Political scientist Gaetan Kongo has announced this and the bill is being prepared for this.
Reason are Serious
Bank Pressure for funds - The expansion of electricity and the Internet was needed to make bitcoin accessible to the masses, and the projects that were going on for this were threatened due to the non-cooperation of IMF, World Bank as well as the BEAC, which issues the fiat currency XAF for the Central African countries.
SangoCoin and Blockchain flop - President Touadera attempted to turn his country into a blockchain hub, for which he issued a national digital currency, SangoCoin, and invited foreign experts to develop blockchain technology. However, due to a lack of promotion & effectiveness, the project did not achieve its objective.
Thoughts
The hope of bitcoin is not lost yet, it is still the benchmark cryptocurrency in the country. President Faustin-Archange Touadera's tweet describing bitcoin as a universal currency is still pinned. From this it appears that the President is adopting a middle path according to the circumstances.
