Splinterlands | Glaiator Card Accumulation Progress!

By costanza | costanza | 1 Feb 2025

It feels like forever since the Gladius Packs were released in Splinterlands as a Soulbound reward for Playing Brawls. After many years, this is the progress I'm making on getting them all to Max Level...

Gladius Packs History

So it's been 4+ Years ago Since Gladiators were introduced in Splinterlands (Link) introducing 32 New Overpowered Soulbound Cards that could only be earned and used in the Brawls to make them more interesting and reward Longer-term players.

Initially they were a DEC reward as it was possible to burn them for that. However, as this printing money out of thin air always goes, the weight became too high so them switched the system so they can now only be burned for Merrits to buy more packs. They also expanded on making all rewards Soulbound and found a way to have Gladiator cards also be used in Ranked. this with both the soulbound Summoners & with Game Rules that allows them.

This mostly sucks for new players as they have no way whatsoever to get them while many of them are just extremely powerful. I'm not sure if there are plans for a new set and/or to allow them to be unlocked similar to the reward Soulbound cards. As the Ranked rewards now also include Merrits, the accumulation of these cards goes a bit faster but still after 4+ years I'm quite a while from having them all maxed out.

The Set Contains 32 Cards!

10 Common Cards
10 Rare Cards
5 epic Cards
7 Legendary Cards

This is my Progress so far toward getting them to Max Level

Conclusion!

After 4 years accumulating these Gladiator Card, I'm getting more and more of them at MAX Level. I'm not sure what's in store for these going forward as I can imagine that many of the top players owning all of them already while it sucks for new players that they start out with a big disadvantage they impossibly can make up for. In total I have 4722 individual cards which means that I likely opened over 1000 Packs to get there!
