Did BlackRock Buy ETH to Pump It... and Dump It on You Later?

Did BlackRock Buy ETH to Pump It... and Dump It on You Later?

Let’s be honest: when a serious investment firm like Two Prime publicly dumps Ethereum and compares it to a memecoin, it’s not just a hot take—it’s a wake-up call.

Ethereum ha fracasado… No vale la pena involucrarse»:

Two Prime didn’t mince words. In a statement that felt more like a slap than a press release, they essentially said: “Ethereum has failed.” According to them, ETH is now behaving like a memecoin with no predictability, no stability, and worst of all, no clear direction.

And honestly? They're not entirely wrong.

Ethereum: From Smart Contract Pioneer to Overpriced Confusion Machine

At one point, ETH was the smart contract platform. But what has it become? A maze of Layer 2 rollups, fragmented liquidity, and gas fees that make your grandma's landline bill look like a steal. Sure, it’s still the default for DeFi, but even DeFi looks tired these days.

Solana is faster. Base is catching up. Polygon does the same job but cheaper. So what exactly is ETH's killer value prop in 2025? “We were first”? Cute, but not good enough.

Volatility: Not Just a Bug, But a Feature?

Two Prime pointed out that even in Q1 2025, during all the post-election chaos and tariff wars, Bitcoin behaved predictably. Ethereum? All over the place. Like a caffeinated squirrel with a trading account.

They weren’t just talking about price swings. They meant behavioral volatility too. Investor confidence? Down. Long-term holders? Capitulating. ETF demand? Laughable compared to BTC.

Let’s not forget: ETF inflows into BTC were 24x higher than ETH. That's not a typo. That’s a hemorrhage.

Layer 2s: Ethereum’s Cannibal Children

Ethereum devs keep touting Layer 2s as the future. But in reality, they’ve turned the ETH experience into a UX nightmare. Bridge here, wrap there, unwrap again, pray your transaction goes through.

And let’s talk business model: if all the transactions and fees are happening on Layer 2s, how exactly is the Ethereum mainnet supposed to remain sustainable long-term? Two Prime called it straight: L2s have cannibalized ETH’s monetization.

Organizational Decay: Ideals Over Innovation

This might be the harshest jab of all: Two Prime accused Ethereum of becoming a "bureaucratic and ideologized" entity.

Translation: too many cooks, not enough code. Endless discussions, debates, governance proposals, but very little execution. It’s like watching a DAO try to organize a pizza party. By the time consensus is reached, everyone’s already hungry and gone.

Ethereum used to be nimble. Now it’s slow, ideological, and plagued by decision paralysis. Great if you’re writing a manifesto. Terrible if you're building infrastructure.

Ethereum vs. Bitcoin: No Contest

Two Prime's conclusion? Bitcoin is simply a better risk-reward asset. It behaves predictably, has actual institutional demand, and hasn’t drowned itself in its own complexity.

Ethereum, meanwhile, acts like a tech startup still searching for a product-market fit. Except it's eight years old and worth over $200 billion. That’s not scrappy innovation—that’s a midlife crisis.

The Final Nail?

Oh, and in case ETH maxis weren’t mad enough, Two Prime went there: they compared Ethereum to Solana. Faster. Cheaper. More usable. Better suited for gaming and payments.

Say what you want about SOL outages, but when even institutional capital starts to see Solana as more pragmatic than Ethereum, it's time to stop clapping for Vitalik's speeches and start building like your chain depends on it.

Dear Ethereum Community: WAKE. UP, DAMN!!

Two Prime said what a lot of builders, users, and even fans have been thinking quietly: Ethereum is losing its edge.

If this doesn’t light a fire under the ecosystem’s ass, nothing will. The clock is ticking, and narratives don’t pay the bills. Deliverables do.

And no, decentralization is not an excuse for stagnation.

We’ll defend ETH next time. Maybe. But for now? Consider this your much-needed roast.

Because no one is coming to save Ethereum.

Not even Vitalik.
