Elon Musk announced in a tweet early Wednesday morning that Tesla has now started accepting Bitcoin as payment. The move isn't really a surprise as Musk mentioned these intentions back in February. Shortly after the tweet came out, though, Bitcoin's price jumped above $55k again after sitting just below for the last few days.
Payments are required to be done in a single exact amount transaction and currently no other digital assets are supported besides Bitcoin. Bitcoin payment option is also only available in the US as of right now with capability available outside the US will be coming later this year, he also tweeted.
