In Houston yesterday we had some bad weather roll in so I was laid up in bed most of the day besides my Dr. appointments I had to go to! When I woke up after I took a nap, it might have been 4 hours long but it was a great nap, to say the least, I was shocked to see that FARM had shot up in price on Coinbase! A little concerned it could be another error like CoinMarketCap had had a few weeks ago I checked around and realized this was a real deal price run!
I have to say it was about time! Recently they had released their stats for the last year and the return for yield farmers has been very good, to say the least! I wrote about what mine were and after I published it I realized this did not take into account the other FARMs I had used that had since been moved to inactive! Even with the markets being as choppy as they have over the course of the year the returns are nothing to laugh at!
Over the course of the year, Harvest bought back roughly 87,000 FARM tokens which is no small feat! Not many big platforms do something like this so it is important to see that this works! Not to mention the gas fees that were saved over the course of the year! Over $87 MILLION USD of gas fees have been saved via the functions that Harvest utilizes! Not to mention over the year farmers were rewarded with yields reaching over $40 million as well!
Now, this good news came out about a week ago but the price was not really too affected so what could have caused the huge spike? Well, a couple of days ago the snapshots were released for the first 4 weeks of vesting rewards from 6 months ago to make sure people who had partaken in the farms were getting the vesting rewards. I also have not seen anyone talk about it recently but for most of the year Harvest's governance token FARM has been undervalued so a breakout was primed to happen. I also am speculating but wonder if there might be some good news or developments that come out the next week or so with the beginning of the New Year but I haven't seen anything about that yet.
