Brave has recently undergo some growing pains and they are have not stopped. Though people will be quick to hate on them they are just basic economics. As a company or corporation or idea mature they evolve and are not the same as before.
The last few months the number of ads people where receiving were dramatically down and this upset a huge part of the user base. They wanted their max of 5 ads per hour and did not seem to think how this would transpire. As Brave cut back on the rewards per ad people did not initially catch on however once it fell to 0.01 to 0.015 per ad people became outraged. I never understood why the community page was so bent out of shape as they wanted more rewards opportunities but Brave only gets x amount of revenue to distribute so to increase the number of ads you had to decrease the reward amount.
I won’t lie this absolutely slaughtered the payouts even with it being at 5 ads per hour. Now I was on my computer less than normal due to my job however even in months were I was hardly on one it was easy to earn a couple of BAT minimum. Using both my computers combined I earned 2.5 BAT...... or approximately $0.50. Awful truly awful but expected because of what the people wanted.
One of if not the biggest things was they ended people’s ability to sign up as Brave Creators. People had the ability to sign up as Brave Creators by just having a Twitter or Youtube channel. This lead to increased growth as people learned about the browser but massive costs for Brave itself. Costs that with the economy and advertising suffering they could no longer afford. They have ended the ability for new Creators to join however those of us who where Creators still have the ability to refer and be rewarded!
I am sure this last change will upset many people but right now with life and the world in disarray this honestly makes sense. They are protecting the product the Brave Browser and are willing to let people flake off as long as the product is alive as the die hard and loyal users will stay. No matter what Brave is extremely secure and way more secure than the other browsers available out there this hasn’t changed. They have and will continue to update it keeping it as such and securing a future for it.
Septemeber was bad but let’s hope October starts to change the fortunes of the economy. As things get better so to will the rewards and the referral program. Lets hope for that I know I will.
