The Brave Browser rewards or BAT have been on quite the adventure the last year or so. It is not hard to see why when you see that the distributions come from ad revenue which fell off a cliff when the pandemic broke out and really took hold. Since the global economy has started to recover though so have the BAT distributions which is fantastic to see!
When the development team first announced and then initiated the cuts a lot of users were outraged with the idea that they would get less BAT however it was necessary for the project. Now that the team has made it through this tough period users are able to reap rewards again. One thing that has changed though that could catch people off-guard is the amount of BAT being distributed. For example, I earned 6.75 BAT last month, and if you were to tell me that I would be happy about that I would have told you you were crazy.
Why am I happy with the amount then? That 6.75 BAT was worth $8.58 when it was issued. Last year BAT spent the majority of the time in the $0.19- $0.28 range so to get $8.5 in BAT would mean I would be receiving 40+ BAT which I never ever came close to hitting. This has slowly been building the last couple of months with this month being the biggest payout I have gotten! This shows how healthy the project is that the rewards in terms of cash value have increased this much even with the awful economic outlook seen just months ago.
Now with the team also working on the new wallet that will be able to replace the Uphold one from what I understand the outlook again is looking really good for Brave and BAT! The team has done a fantastic job in increasing the ability to use it from beyond the TAP network gift cards!
