Another day a new NFT surprise. Today it was announced that Rob Gronkowski, possibly one of the greatest tight ends in football history, will be releasing his own set of NFTs on Thursday. Gronkowski has partnered with OpenSeas for the NFT creation and release however they will not be sold directly on the OpenSeas market. Instead, interested parties will need to go through a website set up directly for it Gronknft.com.
The NFT's will celebrate some of Gronks greatest highlights from the Super Bowls he has played in. There are four separate moments that each will have 87 editions. There will be one "refractor" card that will be a 1/1 and this NFT does come with a real-world perk I am sure many NFL fans will be interested in. This one card will come with a meet and greet with Gronk at an NFL game next season. It will be interesting to see how the bidding will play out and what fan will win.... will it be a New England Patriots fan or a Tampa Bay Bucs fan?! In total there will be 348 NFT's and then the special 1/1 card for a total of 349 NFTs.
Due to OpenSeas not having a partnership with the NFL all of the NFT's will have the names and NFL logo erased/missing from the moments due to legal issues. These NFT goes on sale this Thursday through the website I will link here and will be able to be purchased with Ethereum. Watching the NFT scene explode as it has the last two weeks is fascinating and seeing a player take NFT's into his own hands is a genius move that I expect more players across sports to follow! This cuts out the league or association releasing them thus allowing players to receive much much better compensation!
Here is what the 1/1 NFT signed card will look like!
