Hello people all over the world, today I sit to write a most important topic not only in the web3 internet, but it is also popular in web2 internet and it is so popular but by writing it again and again on the internet means to spread knowledge so fast, that all people in earth should know about it. Topic is on " http:// versus https:// . Which is secure to be used in crypto verse ? "
Now let's start,
Let's start by knowing Domains.
Domains are .in, .com, .gov, .us, .jp, .ru etc, etc, ... , which are at the end of site, like in website https://www.publish0x.com, https://www.google.com domain is .com, common in both these example sites.
Whichever site you will visit have it's domain name preregistered, but for some of the websites, domain names are dynamic according to the location you are living, so be little cautious about this fact, like for example, in India, when you search for google in your web browser, i.e https://www.google.co.in , .co.in is a domain name here in case of India.
Now let's move on important topic,
a ) What is http and https ?
HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol , &
HTTPS stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure .
Simple as that the difference of one Single word Secure, but it creates the whole difference in ups and downs of the security of the use of Internet.
HTTP is less secure and it is very high target under attackers who create malwares and who hackers use to send websites to normal non-techy persons, who after clicking on their links got into very big trouble by sharing their data and that causes data breach of thousands of the users using the internet.
Some hackers also change domains of the websites to collect the user data, means they creating websites using http:// protocol and also changing domains (present situation) to confuse the user. By next time, I think you will care of this thing while clicking on any link that any unknown person sends.
In above picture you can see 2 different persons, one name Helen and other old Carol, one opens the site with http protocol, and other opens the site using https. In HTTP, you don't get encryption to your data, and the hacker can see your data easily through network traffic. In HTTPS, you get encryption to your data, and therefore the hacker can't see your data through network traffic, and hence login password of the site www.example.com, hacker can see Helen password which is "abc123", while hacker can't see the real password of Carol and he sees something different, in much more encrypted form.
Here are the Differences between HTTP and HTTPS :-
It is to keep note that some or many government institutions may not use https while processing small requests, but that always happens within that institution under local host.
Now, comes to the main answer Weather you should use HTTP or HTTPS in Metaverse ?
The answer goes simple, you should always use HTTPS as primary protocol for every transition you send or buy in metaverse, because if you send any wrong transaction, it can be a huge loss for you, because you see every cryptocurrency is going ups and downs in many coming months and years. For example, a cryptocurrency BTC whose value is close to 1 US dollar in 2013-14 is now of value 22978.00 US dollars in 2022. You can check regularly the price by searching web :-
