The trial pitting Craig Wright, the Australian computer scientist who claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto, creator of Bitcoin, against the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) provided a curious moment during the second week of debate
The "Cryptic Message"
A certain “Ninja” sent a cryptic message to Wright during his deposition asking him to digitally sign a message with the private key associated with the first block of Bitcoin, known as the “genesis block.” If Wright had signed, he would have proven unequivocally that he was Satoshi.
A connection to Satoshi?
Ninja's request sparked the community's imagination, fueling the debate on Satoshi's identity. Could Ninja be a collaborator of Satoshi, or even himself trying to test Wright? Or is it all a joke?
COPA doesn't believe it and accuses Wright of trying to stage a trial in his favor.
Ninja's anecdote adds another layer of mystery to the case, leaving the Bitcoin community still uncertain about the identity of its creator.
The question therefore remains: who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Meanwhile, American Senator Elizabeth Warren took the opportunity to celebrate Satoshi Nakamoto and the Bitcoin Revolution, in a speech held at MIT.
Warren praised Bitcoin's positive impact on the global financial system, while stressing the need to regulate cryptocurrencies to prevent tax evasion, money laundering, market manipulation and investor protection.
