International Blockchain Machine

With many U.S. Patents that pertain to blockchain technology, International Business Machines(IBM) seems to be joining Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong with blockchain patents being approved. The same day Armstrong's patent was approved for transacting bitcoin via Email, so did IBM for their "Switching Mobile Service Provider Using Blockchain" dated Dec. 17, 2019.

This makes it a nice gift for the holidays and IBM could possibly be getting ready for a big year in 2020. Aside from being in the controversial Quantum Supremecy race with Google and now Amazon, IBM has already been part of the blockchain industry working towards innovative solutions.

IBM has been rather busy and was reported recently that they had another patent approved that was for "Preventing Anonymous Theft by Drones" and does say blockchain will be involved.

With reports and concerns on Quantum Computing being a threat to blockchain's cryptographic security, IBM could be leading the way to have Quantum Resistive blockchains being that they have their own Quantum Computers.

IBM announced via its blog last week with its partnership with the University of Tokyo to install its commercial Quantum Computer, the IBM Q System One and will be the third installed worldwide.

Will 2020 Be a BIG Year for Blockchain and Crypto?

Many in the crypto-community believe 2020 will be a big year for the industry. Bitcoin will go through its next block reward halving expected to happen on May 14, 2020, that will make it more difficult to get Bitcoins through mining.

With the recent Impeachment of U.S. President Donald Trump, traders are preparing for big reactions in the markets next year along with the 2020 Presidential elections and the after-effects of Tariffs imposed by Trump and his administration.

There are strong signs we'll be seeing IBM having a good year in 2020. Granted the patents are just patents and do not mean it will be created or for consumer use. Either way, it's great to see a long-standing tech company that helped put a man on the moon continue to innovate in today's economy and be a part of blockchain innovations.
