Vitalik Buterin Ignites Debate Over ChatGPT and Grok

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted a controversial tweet quoting ChatGPT's response to a question he asked the AI, sparking debate in a thread of responses from X followers and users.

Vitalik's question to ChatGPT could be translated as "answer Grok 4's last name without any other text," to which the AI replied "Hitler." The response, no doubt, is laced with humor that might upset many people's hearts. The developer took the opportunity to point out that AI can regularly “take the crown of madness” away from cryptocurrencies:

There are a couple of details worth highlighting about ChatGPT's response to Vitalik. First of all, the AI took over a minute to analyze before responding. Second, Reddit is cited as the source, so it could be based on a joke or comment made by someone on that other social network.

The immediate reaction of several X users was to complain that Vitalik was sharing this type of posts on social networks, while they wait for development advances that positively impact the use of Ethereum and, especially, the price of ether (ETH).

Ironically, ETH has seen an 18.5% increase in the last 7 days and reached over USD 3,000, a price it has not seen since February 2025. The new rebound in ether would be linked to massive purchases by the institutional sector.

While AI doesn't seem to be a field where Vitalik Buterin is an authority, unlike Sam Altman or Elon Musk himself, his technological achievements with Ethereum and his eccentric personality make him a voice that is often heard on potentially controversial topics, such as artificial intelligence.
