JPMorgan Registers Trademark for "JPMD" – Its New Dollar Stablecoin?

The largest bank in the United States, JPMorgan Chase, has registered the trademark “JPMD” with the U.S. Patent Office. The filing description states that the trademark may be used, among other things, for “trading, exchanging, transferring, and paying for digital assets, namely, virtual currency, digital currency, digital tokens, payment tokens, decentralized application tokens, and blockchain-enabled currency.”

This suggests it could be a stablecoin or digital dollar, perhaps the ticker for a “JPMorgan Dollar.” However, no further official information has been released so far.

The bank has expressed optimism regarding the Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency market this year.
