This month a massive amount of tokens that remained locked will enter the market. This is shown by the logs of the Token Unlocks explorer, compiled by journalist Colin Wu.

The biggest token unlocks scheduled for December include 1INCH, SUI, Aptos (APT), Apecoin (APE), and Optimism (OP). All of this is worth almost 300 million dollars (USD). You can see this broken down in the image below:

The largest token unlock of the month is APT , based on its dollar value. This will be on December 12 for a total of 24.84 million units of the token, currently equivalent to USD 174.89 million. This is then followed by OP on December 30 for 24.16 million coins valued at $41.07 million.

The APTs that will be unlocked are mainly from core contributors, investors, the community and the ecosystem foundation. Together, they represent 8.95% of the token's circulating supply. Similarly, the OPs to be unlocked are divided practically in half between core collaborators and investors in their ecosystem. These refer to 2.74% of the currency's circulating supply.

Maket Implications of Token Unlock

Knowing this type of data is useful for investors, as it allows them to anticipate possible price movements. Token unlocks often involve price drops , as recipients could sell them to make a profit.
