Binance has announced that it will integrate Ordinals into its internal Marketplace. Ordinals are representations of digital objects that users want to directly inscript on the Bitcoin blockchain. To create Ordinals, users have to allocate Satoshis to develop immutable collections on the Bitcoin network. This Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) creation protocol is an innovation on the Bitcoin network and creates a new use case for the cryptocurrency.

However, the question arises as to whether the Bitcoin network can handle the deployment of Ordinals inscriptions on the blockchain. On Sunday, May 7th, the exchange suspended Bitcoin withdrawals due to excessive transaction congestion waiting for confirmation on the network. The network registered over 400,000 pending transactions. One of the reasons for Bitcoin network congestion was and will continue to be the deployment of Ordinals inscriptions on the blockchain.

Despite Binance's announcement referring to users having a trading method without having to move the Ordinals NFTs outside their environment, the problem will be in the withdrawal, either of the NFTs themselves or even Bitcoin. Congestion will never stop, and fees will be absurdly exaggerated.

The Bitcoin blockchain does not have the capacity to scale and will always register congestion and charge exorbitant fees to have transactions executed. In other words, things have been created on top of Bitcoin, and it seems like the devs forgot that the blockchain does NOT SCALE.

The important thing about today's news is that Binance is determined to bet on the Ordinals inscriptions market, which cannot be said for the lightning network, as the exchange doesn't support and not showing signs to support. Despite the concerns about congestion and fees, the announcement shows the growing interest and adoption of NFTs and the potential for their use case on the Bitcoin network.
