Airdrops are something that receives high traction, Whether it is via telegram bot or through exchanges no doubt that people will subscribe to them. But all of them are not real, at this moment I can find hundreds of airdrops that claim to give you anywhere between 50$-1$ worth of cryptocurrency. We should be able to differentiate scams and real deals. So let's create a checklist to do so.
1.The medium through which airdrops will take place:

Airdrops usually take place through telegram or reputed exchanges. The medium used for airdrop matters a lot. If it is via an exchange or wallet like Coinbase, Probit, etc then that's a thumbs up, just go for it. If it is through an exchange you are literally assured that it will be listed in that exchange. But if it's a telegram bot or something like google forms you need to check for more details.
2.when will you get your tokens:
Now you are clear that the airdrop is happening through a telegram bot or google form or a website. They will be usually displaying a tentative for the drop. In some cases, you may not find it but if they are providing you this information right away that's a plus point.
3.Make sure that information of the coin or token is available:
You should google it, if you know some crypto nerd you can ask him otherwise googling it will get you some hits. You should get the price of the coin, details about the project, etc. Keep in mind that this info may be fabricated to fool you. But check whether the token is listed on any exchange already. If it is listed on a popular exchange that's a plus point, if it's not and you found a promising source that mentions a tentative listing you have a probability at getting a real deal. If no such information is available check for other factors.
4.Read the whitepaper
Check whether a whitepaper is published. you might not be able to understand everything it says but at least see if there is one available. The whitepaper is also something that you can fabricate but try running it through plagiarism checkers, at least you can know if it's unique.
5.The value of Airdrop
Imagine getting a fortune as airdrop? That's too good to be true. So use your commonsense and think about the amount.
6.The Aim of the project
Each project has an aim, it will be probably explained in the whitepaper. The aim is something you should understand. The project will succeed only with a valuable vision.
7.Conversation
Usually, telegram bots will ask you to join groups and channels, try interacting with admins or moderators. You might be able to find information that might help you ensure legitimacy.
Take a note of the following points:

- A luxurious website does not always mean it is the real deal
- Having an application in Playstore or App store may be to misguide you
- Airdrops are like giveaways, you don't have to pay anything
- Do not Invest in projects unless you are 100% sure
