In the last couples of days my island its in chaos. Why? Well, our local government its floating in corruption. The FBI have been working non stop lately cleaning the place from all the thieves that have been stealing the money from our people. Good, right? That's the least you can expect, you must think and I agree with you and to be sincere this corruption thing is so normal here that we're all like "Oh, look! Another one to the long list of corrupt politicians!" Then why the island its in chaos? Well, in short... Telegram chat! Whaaaaat?! Yeah! Someone gave the media almost 900 pages of the telegram group chat were the governor, his advisers and some of the higher ups of the government were talking and that's my dear steemians was the drop that filled the cup!
What the hell is written in those pages? Bullshit! Yeah, the nastiest bullshit you can think of! They made fun of sick people, they insult woman call them whores and talk sexually about them, they talk of how to divert media attention from all the corruption. It doesn't stop there! Plotting to stop the police federal monitor (which... eh... is a crime and FBI already its investigating that), all the detailed plan in how to use the death of almost 5k people after hurricane Maria for their benefit... stealing, lies to make people believe their "good intentions", corruption and the list goes on.
You see, I can totally understand people talking shit and making fun of everything cause that's what people do and they use media to do such thing but coming from the government? You would expect them to be more cautious, more intelligent, less son of bitches! What did the governor said? "I apologize for my expressions in that chat I won't do it again, I will work harder for my country".... That's it! All his party turned their backs on him, obviously!!! 90% of the country wants his head on a silver plate and he still nailed to his position and don't want to resign. Manifestations all over the country, strikes, media war... all at the same time. Media from mainland (USA) covering all the shit that's going on, congressman asking for his head and the guy still saying "nope, not resigning".
He asked the resigning of all the people in that chat, the advisers, the secretaries but him quitting being governor? Pfffffffr, NOPE! He knew all his staff were stealing federal money, even his wife its in a big mess but no, no, no... he is the governor and he won't quit. I feel ashamed of having a governor like that! It is not pretty to see your little island submerge in all this shit and on top of that seeing international news covering all this disaster. I feel relieved cause I didn't voted for any of those bastards! Reading all those papers and seeing how they talked about woman, how they plotted to screw police and journalists, how they made fun of the suffering of the people... it disgusted me, it made me feel furious and nauseated!
I have no idea how all this gonna end. We're all tired, I'm tired! I will try to find inner peace, submerge myself in nature and replenish my energies cause my island is sinking and I need energy to witness whats happening and to think straight. I hope none of you have to pass through this type of situation, is very tiring and awful.
