It was a hot afternoon. The sun was in the middle of the sky burning the entire place with its merciless rays. The heat was unbearable, the sea breeze was gone and none of that mattered at that time cause everyone where gathered to witness a duel.
No one there had any idea what was the offense that brought the conflict. Even the seagulls were confused abut the whole thing and started to blame each other for the upcoming events. Duels are very rare nowadays but everyone knows that they never end up good! The ones in the middle of this "private war" were too little silver fishes and they were very serious about it.
The two fishes got out of the water and grabbed the first thing that were near them. The objective was clear "getting rid of the enemy". That was all they had in their little heads. One of the fishes grabbed a tiny stick while the other took his fin off trying to show he feels no pain. They asked the old seagull to give the signal to start the fight. The air felt very tense, the sweat was slowly getting down my body while my heart was racing like a million horses in the wild.
The old seagull looked at everyone and asked the two little fishes if they wanted to forget everything and keep walking but no, they wanted blood and they wanted it asap! People were starting to get desperate, they wanted to see the whole thing and they didn't care about the nasty sunburn they were getting because of it! The old seagull opened his mouth and yelled very loud, the duel started... the little fish took the stick the other one said "come at me once". The thing was about to get ugly and bloody when a pelican came and ate both!
Silence took over the place. Everyone were astonished, no one couldn't believe that pelican came and ate the two fishes just when they were about to kill each other. The old seagull asked the pelican "why you did such thing?" The pelican look at the seagull and responded in a very calmed way "I saw the opportunity and took it. They were long dead. Their stupidity killed them, not me!"
