I don't know about you, but I've been bombarded by emails from 'Kroll' in the past few weeks.
Except the emails were not from Kroll, they were just phishing emails regarding my BlockFi and FTX claim.
They're really, really good, though.
It's kinda hard to detect they're not real. Yesterday I got two, actually four in total. Two for BlockFi and two for FTX.
The first 'batch' was sent by one 'Kroll Restructuring'. The second batch was sent by FTX Noticing and BlockFi Noticing.
They all say the same thing, "connect your wallet to withdraw funds".
Just out of curiousity, I actually tried.
I created a new MetaMask from scratch, and I tried to connect it.
Nothing happens, they say "wallet unsupported" or something like that. Presumably because their system detects I've linked a wallet that's empty.
They're so sneaky, they say you have to make sure to link "a wallet you've previously used with FTX". Yeah, right.
But there's a saying in my native tongue. Roughly translated, it reads: "You're trying to steal from the thieves' house". It sounds a bit bad in English so I'll quote an alternative version as well. It goes: "You're trying to teach a father how to have kids". You get the gist.
Mind you, there's one thing I'm concerned about, though. How did they get my email? Clearly Kroll isn't doing a great job at managing these bankruptcies.
