Spokane, the second-largest city in Washingston state, has banned crypto ATMs.
But wait till you hear why. Spokane City Council said that basically they're banning them because scams are becoming too frequent.
Apparently, Paul Dillon, a Council member, said they are "banning future ones, as well as removing existing kiosks."
Sure.
I'm not particularly happy when the government bans something and says it's to 'protect me'.
I'm not sure it's the government's job to protect me. Like, was it the government's job to protect people from losing money to the obvious scam that Hawk Tuah coin was?
Maybe. I don't know.
I also don't see a crypto ATM in the top 10 of the tools I'd use to spend crypto.
There's a million different ways. I have about seven different debit cards connected to crypto accounts. Easiest thing in the world.
I did use an ATM, actually. Twice. In Spain.
Years ago.
And it basically consisted of going to a computer shop which accepted BTC, sending them the BTC and receiving cash money in return.
