OpenAI wants to become the new Google, but what if Google becomes the new OpenAI?

OpenAI is launching (in Beta) a new search engine called SearchGPT.

For the time being, it is only available to 10,000 users, presumably by invite, and presumably only in the US.

But that's besides the point, the point is, you've probably noticed, every f****g app we're using these days has integrated AI features.

And search engines are doing that too.

The line between summarising search results and doing that with AI is quite thin, isn't it?

Google generally does a good job at summarising search results, with one exception, and that's if it's about politically sensitive topics, we all know that.

This is a problem that's unfortunately known across the board, but that's a different conversation altogether.

The bottom line is, it won't take long for Google to add AI features, but it will take a lot of effort for OpenAI's SearchGPT to perfect the features that make Google the most used search engine in the world.

Let's wait and see.
