Meet the man who might replace Gary Gensler as SEC Chair

By LeftFooted | bitcoinea | 7 Nov 2024

Crypto attorney Jake Chervinsky identified Mark Uyeda as the most accredited candidate to replace Gary Gensler as chair of the SEC.

Uyeda, a SEC commissioner, has been critical of Gary Gensler, calling his infamously anti-crypto policies a "disaster for the whole industry".

Trump said he would fire Gensler on day one if elected.

While the US President doesn't actually have the power to do that, he can of course set in motion the necessary bureaucratic process to make that happen.

Either way, after Trump's win, Gary Gensler is obviously on borrowed time, and he'll be replaced soon.

And either way, his successor will likely come forward with totally different policies, and likely a different tone.
